New Insights into Plant Calcium Signalling with Salipro®

In a recent study published in Journal of Molecular Biology, Poul Nissen and his team gained novel insights into the intricate regulatory mechanisms of the autoinhibited plasma membrane calcium ATPase ACA8.

By reconstituting the ATPase ACA8 into Salipro® nanoparticles, the researchers uncovered key findings:

  • Cryo-EM structures of Salipro-ACA8 provide a detailed model for ACA8 activity regulation.

  • Lipid interactions matter: Acidic phospholipids influence ACA8's activity.

We are excited to see our Salipro® technology enabling a deeper understanding of how ACA8 is regulated and activated, shedding light on the complex mechanisms governing plant calcium signalling. This knowledge could potentially lead to applications in crop protection. Congratulations to the research teams for their outstanding work!
